My reaction to Bob Emiliani’s post:
I think the focus in this article is too much on the leaders. What about the followers?
What I see is that many followers become leaders now, helping out in their environment where they can. Also, in this time of isolation, people become more reflective about what they really value in life.
Now the focus is very much on health care workers and teachers. Not so long ago, these very same people were protesting in The Hague to express their need for more funding. With limited succes. Once this is over, what will happen?
Many things will be reevaluated. Appreciation for health care workers and teachers for example. Travel. Shopping. Out sourcing. Universal Basic Income. Taxing. Etc.
What may happen is that the current crisis will show more and more “followers” that current leadership is totally inadequate. What may happen is that leaders focusing more on economy than on people become totally unacceptable.
Question is how many people need to die before that happens…
